The Environment
Presently, the State of Israel is lagging behind other Western countries and is one of the world's largest waste producers of waste. Given this, the Ministry of Environmental Protection is promoting a new policy to reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills through the maximum reuse of waste.
The Fund's activity in this field focuses on waste treatment through its holdings in Chen Hamakom, from the collection stage, through establishing and operating transit stations for sorting and separating waste, recycling, and processing, in addition to supplementary, ancillary activities. The Fund views Chen Hamakom as a platform for establishing waste recycling and energy recovery facilities to support the decrease of environmental damage that is consequential to the use of landfills.
